Fort Museum is the official museum of the North West Mounted Police, the predecessors of the RCMP. One of the first North-West Mounted Police riding demonstrations took place in Fort Macleod in 1876. Today, this tradition continues with the Museum's NWMP Musical Ride. The Musical Ride performs daily from July 1 to Labor Day, weather permitting. The Mounted Patrol stables are open to the public between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm daily in July and August.
Experience life at Fort Macleod through demonstrations, vignettes, public program tours, and audio-visual presentations. The gift shop offers visitors a selection of souvenirs, reproductions, Alberta and Canadian-made crafts, and books guaranteed to please visitors of all ages.
