Caribou Creek Recreational Mining Area

Caribou Creek Recreational Mining Area was created in 1991 by the Alaska State Legislature as a permanent recreational mining area for the general public. The mining area is located near the confluence of Caribou Creek and the Matanuska River at mile 104 Glenn Hwy/Tok Cutoff.
