Chugiak is a community on the Knik Arm northeast of Anchorage. It is located between Eagle River and Eklutna along the Glenn Hwy/Tok Cutoff. The area was homesteaded after WWII. The completion of the new Glenn Hwy/Tok Cutoff led to development. It is bounded on one side by the waters of the Knik Arm and on the other by the Chugach State Park. It is contiguous with the area known as Peters Creek. It offers a full range of businesses and services for resident and vistor alike. Chugiak is part of the Anchorage, Alaska metro area.
