Fort Richardson Army Base

This historic army base was constructed during WWII. The base is seven miles from Anchorage on the Glenn Hwy/Tok Cutoff. Self-guided tours are available of the base. Visitors also enjoy Fort Richardson Fish and Wildlife Center. Today, Fort Richardson is headquarters for U.S. Army Alaska.
