Experience a bit of Alaskan history. The Roadhouse celebrated its centennial in 1998. The cafe features homestyle cooking and baking at its finest. There are cabins as well as creekside camping. Plus laundry and showerhouse, mercantile store and tire repair.
The mountain ridges heading from here back to Anchorage are good rockhound areas. Anthracite Ridge has rock crystal, petrified wood, jasper and rose agate. Hicks Creek is named for the guide on Captain Glenn's 1898 expedition.
