Holy Cross

Holy Cross lies on the west bank of Ghost Creek Slough, 40 miles northwest of Aniak. A Catholic mission and school were established at the site in the 1880s. Ingalik Indians migrated to the area to be near the mission and school, which were torn down in the 1950s.

The community is dependent upon air and boat transportation, as well as subsistence and fish-related activities.
