Manokotak is one of the newer villages in the Bristol Bay region, located 25 miles southwest of
Dillingham on the Igushik River.
Manokotak is an Eskimo village. Many residents trap fox, beaver, mink, and otter. 95 percent of villagers leave Manokotak during the fishing season - moving to fish camps in nearby villages. Fog and high winds exist periodically throughout the year.
