Seldovia Public Library, serving an area of 840 residents, has a collection of 11,500 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 270 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 1,100 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists solely of volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $5,600. Patrons make 3,400 visits annually, and check out materials 6,600 times. Fourteen percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
