St. Innocent Orthodox Cathedral was consecrated in 1994 as the Bicentennial Cathedral of the Orthodox Church in America, commemorating the arrival of the first Russian Orthodox missionaries in Alaska in the year 1794.
The cathedral is one of the most prominent architectural monuments in Anchorage, with 12 onion-shaped domes.
