Ashville

The first settler in the area, John Ash, built his home in the center of the city "Courthouse Square", whereafter the city was named after him for being one of the first to arrive. Ashville is found in St. Clair County (North Region)where it is one of two of the county seats, putting it in the metro area.


Around the center of town is the real estate offices, gift shops, restaurants, and convience stores. The museums in the area are Inzer House, Masonic Lodge, and the Ashville Museum. Also in the area is the John Looney House Pioneer Museum which is the main historic site in the area. Each offer a large variety of information from the past.
