With a rich history that began when the city was founded in 1887 and a large variety of historic homes in the center of town, Bessemer has much to offer its local community.
It is home to Bessemer State, Alabama's largest technical college, and has five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
Such things as a large theme park, large water park, a mall, and a golf course, this town has a very wide variety of things for everyone to do. When it comes to the food this town has everything you need to satisfy your taste. It has the range of foods from a quick fast food meal to a nice restaurant.
Bessemer is located in Jefferson County ( North Region), southwest of Birmingham between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham along Highway 150 putting it in the Birmingham, Alabama metro area.
