Carrollton

After the Declaration of Independence was signed, a man by the name of Charles Carroll (a signer of the Declaration) came to an area that is now named after him, Carrollton. It is located in Pickens County (Central Region) 11 miles from Aliceville Lake and the Mississippi state line along Highway 86.


The city is full of history which can all be found at the Tom Bevill Visitor Center. It has all the facts from about 1830 to the present including the US Snagboat. Information like what is in the visitor center and more can be found at the Carrollton Public Library. At the library is all the books, videos, and more that can be used for school, personal development, or curiosity.
