Jackson

Jackson is named after Andrew Jackson, a military hero to the area. The city is located in Clarke County (Gulf Coast Region), 16 miles South West of Grove Hill along Highway 43.


The city is full of a rich history including one of the first street lights constructed in 1917, and the cities first hospital in 1928. The city built its first water well in 1920 providing residents with an abundant supply of drinking water.
Many of the activities in the area include camping and the Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge for the observation of wildlife in its natural habitat. The hunting and fishing in the Jackson Area is well monitored to the enthusiast that find themselves in a sportsman's paradise.
