McCalla is located in
Jefferson County (
North Region), south of
Birmingham between Lipscomb and Woodstock along Highway 18 near
Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Prk placing it as part of the
Birmingham, Alabama metro area.
The city is rich in history including the Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park, Iron and Steel Museum of Alabama.
Also in the area is the Visionland Theme Park along with the Ladeview Country Club, and the Tannehill National Golf Course providing many activities when visiting the area.
