Newton Alabama

Newton is located in Dale County (Southeast Region), 15 miles northwest of Dothan along Highway 134 near the Fort Rucker Military Reservation.

A rich history of the city has brought it to date with the paving crews coming through in 1928 and a boarding house and the telephone office still standing. You will also see the old bank and the old Masonic building when traveling through.
The Newton Civil War Monument and the Oates-Reynolds Memorial Building are excellent places to view the past of the city. They show much of the early days of the city and many other artifacts.
