First United Methodist Church's roots go back to 1820 when Circuit Riding Ministers traveled the area. Its purpose is to be a worshiping, witnessing, and working community of believers in Jesus Christ. Its mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Its vision tells that it is a family of God driven by the Holy Spirit, led by the laity, and committed to Christian discipleship.
