Oxford is located in
Calhoun County (
North Region), 50 miles E of
Birmingham along Interstate 20. It is also near Fort McClellan, Aniston Militray Reservations and the Talledega National Forest placing it as part of the
Anniston, Alabama metro area.
The local attractions to the area include the Oxford Lake and the Coldwater Covered Bridge. These are excellent place to see while visiting in the area.
The city is home to a wonderful Civic Center providing a playground, 3 tennis courts, 7 picnic pavilions, horseshoe pits and a volleyball area. The area is also home to a swimming pool and the B&J Golf Center.
