Phenix City is located in Russell County (Central Region), southeast of Opelika along Highway 80 on the banks of the the Chattahoochee River near Columbus GA and the Ft Mitchell National Cemetery.


The city has many main attractions in the area including the East Alabama Motor Speedway, Mural at Idle Hour Park, Phenix City Amphitheater, Phenix City Art Gallery, and Lakewood Golf Course. These places are great for visiting when traveling through and wonderfull additions to the city life.
The city prides itself in the higher education at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, and Troy State University. These schools are the foundation for higher education in the area.
