Vance is located in Tuscaloosa County (Central Region) where the population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 270, placing it as part of the Tuscaloosa, Alabama metro area.
One of the major attractions to the area is the Mercedes-Benz Visitors Center displaying the history of the cars along with the upcoming production of modern vehicles.
The area is also home to much camping. Many places are available for this outdoor activity.
