As a city that was incorporated in about 1897, it has one of the best public education systems, excellent health care, affordable homes, a strong and expanding industrial base, good restaurants, and recreational activities. At the local community center, activities for all ages are held including reunions, showers, parties, baseball, softball, soccer, square dancing, clogging, and even karate. The patriotism runs deep in this southern community with the people being proud Americans.
