Woodville

Woodville is located in Jackson County (North Region), 30 miles SE of Huntsville between Scottsboro and and Huntsville along Highway 35 off highway 72 near Guntersville Lake.


The city was incorporated in 1890 but Henry Derrick settled in Old Woodville around 1815. The city is the oldest town in Jackson County being only one day older than the state.
Much of the history of the area can be found at the Woodville Historical Museum, Woodville Historical Center, and the Woodville Public Library.
Some of the attractions to the area are the Old MacDonald's Petting Zoo and the Cathedral Caverns. These are great places to visit when passing through the area.
