Southern Danceworks is Alabama's only professional modern dance company. Its mission is to advance dance as a major art form, contributing to and enriching the life, culture, and community of Alabama. It provides performances, lecture demonstrations, school residencies, special education programs and touring. Dancers are trained in a wide variety of dance techniques such as modern, ballet, jazz, African, pre-school movement and special needs.
