Huntsville is located in Madison County (of which it is the county seat), east of Fayetteville, between Hindsville and Old Alabam along US Hwy 412 near Beaver Lake State Park and the White Rock Mountains. Huntsville is part of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, Arkansas metropolitan area.The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,971, an increase of 366 since 1990. Huntsville has many amenities, including a fine school system, several medical clinics, a retirement center, over 70 churches representing all denominations and an airport. There are national forests and state parks for picnicking or camping and hunters will find such game as deer, turkey, rabbit and squirrel.
