Mountain Home is located in
Baxter County (of which is the county seat), east of
Fayetteville, between
Bull Shoals and
Henderson just south of the Missouri boarder. Also situated near the
White River in the
Ozark Mountains, between
Bull Shoals-White River State Park and Norfork Lake.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 10,129, an increase of 1,102 since 1990.
The Mountain Home area is one of the best vacation and retirement spots in the country. It encompasses two massive lakes, three rivers, and beautiful mountain scenery, fulfilling Arkansas' motto as The Natural State.
This community is home to Arkansas University Mountain Home, as well as a multitude of outdoor activities.
