Founded in 1877, this is a small, privately supported, co-educational 4-yr liberal arts college whose enrollment has been historically black. Currently, Philander Smith College has an enrollment of 925 students. Undergraduate degrees are offered in education, humanities, natural & physical sciences, business and social sciences. An honors program, independent study programs and internships are also offered.
