St Charles is located in Arkansas County northeast of Pine Bluff between Cross Roads and DeWitt along Hwy 1 on the banks of the White River near the White River National Wildlife Refuge. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 37,073, an increase of 12,381 since 1990. Popular attractions throughout the St Charles area includes: St. Charles Battle Monument & Marker, St. Charles Museum and the Great River Road National Scenic Byway.
