West Memphis is located in Crittenden County east of Forrest City between Lehi and Memphis, Tennessee along I-40 on the banks of the Mississippi River near the Tennessee and Mississippi boarder.The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 26,581, a decrease of 1,678 since 1990. West Memphis is part of the Memphis, Tennessee-Arkansas-Mississippi metro area.
