Clarkdale is located in Yavapai County southwest of Flagstaff between Cottonwood and Sedona along Highway 279.

Situated within the Prescott National Forest.

The Town of Clarkdale is situated in the Verde Valley, located in the North Central part of Arizona. The Town was founded in 1912. The United Verde Copper Company owned Clarkdale. The company provided housing and services for its employees who worked in the nearby smelter. Mining operations were discontinued in 1953 and Clarksdale was incorporated in 1957.

The Town of Clarkdale offers a brochure that takes visitors on a tour of the historic sites of Clarkdale, including buildings constructed in the 1920's by the mining company that founded the town. The brochure is available at the Town Hall.

Arizona Exposition & State Fair Phoenix AZ October11-November3 The Arizona Expo and State Fair is held every year. Events include the All-Indian Rodeo, motorized events, animal displays and competition, cooking contests, youth activities, and competitive entries. There is also an annual concert schedule that is announced prior to the fair. Exhibition buildings and grounds include the Agriculture Center, Arizona Plaza Building, Avenue of Flags, Cattle Barns, Exhibit Building, Grandstand-Arena, Hacienda Home Arts Center, Wesley Bolin Building, and the Party Gras.
