Cottonwood

Cottonwood is located in Yavapai County north of Phoenix between Prescott and Sedona along Highway 89A near the Tuzigoot National Monument.

Cottonwood is situated within the Prescott National Forest.

Today, designated as a Historic District, Old Town Cottonwood has a unique array of shops, art galleries, antiques, cafes, lodging and more.

Cottonwood was founded in 1879. Between 1915 and 1917 Cottonwood began to grow. By March of 1917 Cottonwood was booming.

Visitors and residents of the area are offered an array of activities and entertainment including golf, the Montezuma Castle, Dead Horse Ranch, Old Town, Fort Verde, and more.
