Cottonwood is situated within the Prescott National Forest. Today, designated as a Historic District, Old Town Cottonwood has a unique array of shops, art galleries, antiques, cafes, lodging and more. Cottonwood was founded in 1879. Between 1915 and 1917 Cottonwood began to grow. By March of 1917 Cottonwood was booming.
