Dateland is located in Yuma County east of Yuma between Yuma and Gila Bend along Interstate 8 near the Gila River. Dateland is part of the Yuma, Arizona metro area. Located 50 miles east of Yuma on Interstate 8, Dateland is a perfect place to stop for a refreshing date shake and a little sight-seeing. Established in the early 1900's, Dateland was one of the desert training sites used by General Patton, and nearby is a monument dedicated to the men who died during WWII training exercises. Dateland has an airport and a community center known as Aldredge Community Center. The city also boasts a grocery store, a hardware store, post office, tavern, tire store, gas station, restaurant, gift shop, two RV parks, and a real estate office.
