Artist Felix Lucero hand sculpted the images of Christ at the Last Supper, on the Cross and with the Holy Family to fulfill his vow when his life was spared in World War 1.
The Garden of Gethsemane is nestled in a corner between the Santa Cruz River Walk and Congress Street. Created on the riverbanks in the late '40s to house the religious sculpture of Felix Lucero, the garden was moved to the current site in 1971. A tree-darkened path leads the way into the tiny park--it measures about 45 paces by 20 paces. Inside are potted ferns and roses, and all variety of greenery trailing the walls.
