Holbrook is located in Navajo County, of which it is the county seat, southeast of Flagstaff between Winslow and St. Johns along Highway 180 on the banks of the Little Colorado River near the Petrified Forest National Park. Holbrook is on the banks of the Little Colorado River in northeastern Arizona's Navajo County high plateau country.

Holbrook is home to many restaurants, many motels, a tourist information center, and a walking tour of historic Holbrook. Holbrook is also located near the Petrified Forest National Park.

Special events during the year include the annual Hashknife Posse Pony Express Ride in January, Holbrook Old West Celebration in June, the "Gathering of Eagles" Native American art show in mid-July, the Navajo County Fair and Navajo County Horse Racing in September and the Festival of Trees and Christmas Parade of Lights in early December.

Arizona Exposition & State Fair Phoenix AZ October11-November3 The Arizona Expo and State Fair is held every year. Events include the All-Indian Rodeo, motorized events, animal displays and competition, cooking contests, youth activities, and competitive entries. There is also an annual concert schedule that is announced prior to the fair. Exhibition buildings and grounds include the Agriculture Center, Arizona Plaza Building, Avenue of Flags, Cattle Barns, Exhibit Building, Grandstand-Arena, Hacienda Home Arts Center, Wesley Bolin Building, and the Party Gras.
