OK Corral The World's most famous gunfight site

Located in Tombstone, Arizona, the OK Corral has been preserved and offers visitors a glimpse of the most famous gunfight in history. In October 2006, the 125th anniversary of the October 26, 1881, gunfight will be celebrated.

When visitors take a stroll through the OK Corral, they have the opportunity to witness Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Virgil and Morgan Earp fight the McLaurys and Clantons during the daily re-enactments. Guests may also stand beside life-size replicas of the nine gunfighters on the very spot where the 1881 shoot-out began. Visitors will learn what caused the 30-second showdown that left three cowboys dead, Virgil and Morgan Earp wounded.

Guests may also tour C.S. Fly's Photo Gallery where his world-famous 1886 photos of the Apache Chief Geronimo, and his historic photos of 1880s Tombstone life reside.

Orient your visit to Toomstone by visiting the Toomstone Historama. Vincent Price narrates a multimedia presentation of the dynamic history of Toomstone where visitors will learn about the silver boom, the great fire, the OK Corral gunfight, and the assassination of Morgan Earp.

Comments: Tombstone's Main Event is a new theatrical presentation with professional actors portraying the events leading up to and culminating in the famous gunfight. The event takes place Fridays, Saturdays and select Sundays and weekdays at 5 pm at the Corral (call for details), and is 45 minutes long. A free interactive street theater performance begins at the Birdcage Theater on the opposite end of Allen Street at about 4:30 and makes its way to the Corral gates, where admission for the Main Event is $5.00 for adults (children under 12 are currently free). This show is aimed at adults and history buffs, as well as fans of the movie "Tombstone". Families, teens, and older children will also enjoy. Much of the play is dialogue driven and will be over the heads of younger children, who may also be greatly alarmed by the gunshots. The Corral stays open until 6 pm on the days of the Main Event (not to be confused with the 2 pm re-enactment).
