Pipe Spring National Monument, within the Kaibab-Paiute Indian Reservation is located off State Route 389 and is 14 miles west of Fredonia. The monument is a tribute to the pioneers who explored, settled and delevoped large portions of the Southwest. It preserves an 1870 cattle ranch consisting of the ranch house and two exteriors used as barracks. Pipe Spring received the first telegraph in Arizona and also served as a way station for weary travelers. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is closed New Years Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
