Sabino Canyon lies in the Catalina Mountains and is part of the Coronado National Forest. Sabino Canyon is one of Tucson's natural treasures. Fed by the waters of Sabino Creek and sheltered by the canyon walls, the plants and animals that inhabit the canyon offer an interesting contrast to those found in the surrounding desert. The shade and cool water attract Tucsonans year round to this site. Pets and vehicles are not allowed in the canyon. Tours are offered into the canyon aboard shuttle buses. Swimming and picnicking are permitted. The visitors reception area is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Those interested may call 520-749-8700 for more information.
