Tolleson is located in Maricopa County on the western city limits of Phoenix along Interstate 10. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 5,121, an increase of 685 since 1990.

Tolleson is in Central Arizona and covers six square miles. Tolleson has a solid agriculture area. Tolleson has a warm sunny climate with a summer high temperature of 104 and a winter low temperature of 38 degrees.

In the early 1900's, a stagecoach station named Ten Mile Store was located in the area that is now Tolleson. The town was incorporated in 1929. Tolleson was the first city in Arizona to have all paved streets.

Agriculture has always been very important and continues to a beneficial part of the town today.

Tolleson is part of the Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona metro area.
