Wellton Arizona

Wellton is located in Yuma County just east of Yuma between Yuma and Gila Bend along Interstate 8 on the banks of the Gila River near the California state line. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,180, an increase of 114 since 1990. Welton is situated just north of the United States-Mexico border.

Wellton is part of the Yuma, Arizona metro area.

Located 29 miles east of Yuma, Arizona, the Town of Wellton is a center for business, services, recreation, and a leisurely lifestyle. Surrounded by the Gila Mountains and local farms, people have been coming to Wellton to enjoy the town's quiet setting.

The town boasts a rich western history a water stop for the railroad (hence Well Town - Wellton) and the Butterfield Stage Coach.
