Wing Mountain Cross-country Ski Area

Search Flagstaff Arizona

The United States Forest Service has marked over 17 miles of cross-country ski trails for free use at the Wing Mountain Ski Area, just 8 miles north of Flagstaff. The landscape is varied and offers excellent skiing ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced, as well as some of the most reliable snow conditions accessible from US 180. No mechanized grooming is provided, but tracks are usually skied by the locals soon after a fresh powder. The trails generally follow gently rolling terrain, although some have enough gradient to add challenge. Both paved US 180 and the graveled FR 222 are generally plowed, but winter conditions can make roads hazardous.
