The development of sugar refining in British Columbia closely parallels the growth of Vancouver. BC sugar opened in 1891. In tracing the history of this operation, visitors will notice the changing face of the region and its people. The displays include examples of early sugar-making equipment, as well as letters and photographs which bring the past to life. While the main focus of the museum is on the development of the Vancouver refinery, attention is also given to the company's operations in other areas. One section is devoted to the history of beet sugar production on the prairies, while displays of past company operations in Fiji & the Dominican Republic are also included. Also on display is 1715 sugar-making equipment. PO Box 2150 123 Rogers Street Vancouver BC V6B 3V2
