In the snow-capped
Coast Mountain Range, the Birkenhead Lake extends 6 km and provides excellent fishing for kokanee, rainbow trout and Dolly Varden. Within the remote park, 55 km northeast of
Pemberton, can be found moose, deer, black bear, marten, bobcat and river otter. Phelix Creek is a good area to view heron stalking their underwater prey. It is also a spawning ground for kokanee, a small, landlocked salmon. There are no reservations for the use of any of the 85 camping sites. In addition, there are 6 wilderness walk-in camping sites.
This is just one of hundreds of British Columbia Provincial Parks.
