The Cowichan District of Vancouver Island takes in the southern tip of the island except for the Greater Victoria area. The major communities in the district are Ladysmith, Chemainus, Crofton, Cobble Hill, Duncan, Cowichan Bay, Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake and Cowichan Bay.
