Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, established in 1981, operates a program facility for workshops and classes in yoga and the creative and healing arts, and offers natural healing methods, such as Ayurvedic Swedan massage and reflexology. All yoga classes are based on the classical tradition of uniting the movement of body and breathe with mindfulness. Teachers training programs and retreats are also provided. Body treatment from the Healing Arts Studio is available.

Seattle Japanese Cultural Festival Seattle WA April26-28 The festival features Japanese exhibits, performances, and demonstrations. Held at the Seattle Center in the Fisher Pavilion. The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
