Bulkley Valley Folk Music Society is a non profit society that works to promote folk music and folk musicianship. Every year it conducts Midsummer Festival in Smithers showcasing regional and local performers. The Festival helps to promote a greater appreciation of folk music among residents of the Bulkley Valley and the northwestern region of British Columbia. Camping is provided for performers. The Society gives money, advice, gear and encouragement to other festivals in the region.
