At Kicking Horse Pass, Highway 1 (The Transcanada Highway) reaches its highest elevation, 1647 metres above sea level. The pass is between Field BC and Lake Louise AB. It is one the boundary between Yoho National Park in British Columbia and Banff National Park in Alberta.
