Lush vegetation and brooding forests line the trail up Spectrum Creek to Peters and Margie lakes, which sparkle beneath peaks that reach 3000 metres above sea level. Naked bedrock protruding from a stunted carpet of alpine vegetation undoubtedly led to the Valley of the Moon's intriguing name. Visitors may see caribou, mule deer, ground squirrels and pikas.
The park is open year round. The only campsites are the wilderness/walk-in variety. There are no fees and no reservations.
This is just one of hundreds of British Columbia Provincial Parks.
