Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park |
Wilderness scenery dominates the park. Jagged peaks, lakes, glaciers, mixed boreal forests and alpine meadows compete for visitors' attention with big game animals. The park is also home to over 93 species of birds.
The main use of the park is wilderness recreation. Besides hiking, mountain biking (on one trail only), and cross-country skiing, there are opportunities for mountaineering. Base camp lodges support mountaineering ventures.
This is just one of hundreds of British Columbia Provincial Parks.
