The park, situated about 100 km northwest of
Williams Lake, straddles the boundary of Nazko Uplands and the Chilcotin Plateau. It was previously managed by the Forest Service as a canoe route and this is still its primary role. Two previous Forest Service recreation sites remain with the park. The park is a wilderness area and is not regularly serviced or patrolled.
