The Ymir Hotel is nestled in the beautiful Selkirk Mountains along the Salmo River in the West Kootenays of British Columbia. It was built in 1886 during the mining boom in the Salmo River Valley. The Ymir Hotel & Saloon is one of the oldest remaining buildings in the region, and has the distinction of being the oldest continuous operating hotel/inn establishment in the area.
