This river begins north of
Prince George in the Rocky Mountain Trench. Its flow is blocked by W.A.C. Bennett Dam at Hudson Hope, backing up the huge Williston Lake behind it. It flows to the east out of British Columbia near
Fort St John, its waters eventually finding their way to Lake Athabasca and the Arctic Ocean. The Peace River's total length is
1,923 km (~1195 miles).
