Pinecone Burke Provincial Park occupies the western shore of
Pitt Lake. It is a wilderness ara with old growth forests, numerous alpine lakes, rugged terrain and remnant icefields.
All five species of Pacific salmon, plus cutthroat trout, steelhead and Dolly Varden can be found within the park. Habitat is also provided for grizzly and black bears, black-tailed deer, and mountain goats.
The Five Fingers alpine area north of Widgeon Lake has long been a destination for mountain climbers. First ascents date back to the early 1920's. Remnants of early mining can also be found.
This is just one of hundreds of British Columbia Provincial Parks.
